Kaohsiung Film Festival to feature ’Penguin Girl’ as opener

KAOHSIUNG (TVBS News) — The 2024 Kaohsiung Film Festival (KFF, 高雄電影節) announced on Monday (Sept. 2) its highly anticipated opening and closing films.
The festival will kick off with "Penguin Girl" (命中註定那頭鵝), a love story starring Charlize Lamb (林奕嵐), Zhan Huai-yun (詹懷雲), Golden Horse Best Supporting Actor Nadow Lin (納豆), Taipei Film Awards Best Actress Yang Zin (陽靚), and Golden Horse Best Supporting Actress Beatrice Fang (方志友).
The festival will close with "Hunter Brothers" (獵人兄弟), reuniting Golden Horse winners Bokeh Kosang (徐詣帆), Umin Boya (馬志翔), and Rev. Nolay Piho (林慶台) for the first time since "Seediq Bale" (賽德克.巴萊).
The KFF annually invites hundreds of domestic and international films, emphasizing creativity and social relevance. This year, the festival will showcase over 200 films, 300 screenings, 100 fan events, and a unique international short film competition, consistently attracting star-studded casts and industry professionals.
The 2024 KFF will run from Oct. 12 to 27 and will take place at multiple venues, including the Kaohsiung Film Archive, Neiwei Arts Center, Kaohsiung Main Public Library, VR Experience Theater, Pier-2 Warehouse P3, and Pier-2 Bicycle Warehouse, ensuring a wide-reaching and immersive experience for attendees.
